Monterey Historics - If you're going, and have an opportunity....
....to get shots of the GT MKIV that will be there, I'll take any and all full frame or detail shots of the car. Wish I could get down there this year, but no such luck.
I plan on going as well and can take a few ... but looks like you will be well covered.
I'll be taking a bunch of overall shots on Saturday, mostly prowling the pits. If anyone else out there in Club Cobra land have any requests, chime in.
Sorry Brent for stealing/derailing your thread, but if anyone sees this CSX4000, I believe owned by Bruce Canepa, I would love to see some detailed pics of it.
With so many CC members goin to Monterey this week I was thinkin we shoulda planned a caravan or a meet up down there. I will be at the Baja Cantina Thurs afternoon. I can be found at the bar wearing a Cobra hat... and hopefully some shoes too.
I'll be there Brent - any particular areas you want pictures of?
I'm game for anything, but I'm working on the details. Mine will never be a perfect reproduction, but I have fun trying to get things close. I really wanted to get down there since Dan Gurney is going to be there too. Was thinking it would be neat to bring my filler cover or something and have him sign it with a paint marker and then have it cleared and put on the car. That isn't going to work though. Been trying to convince the wife, but...
Thanks for your help, Pat. Really would like to get down there and see you and the gang.
I got one pic and it's nuthin to write home about...they had somebody standing next to it, so there was no way to hop the chain and get better pics. I'll email a high res to you manana when I plug into the office dsl.
I did get some photos of the GT MKIV and have to say, it looks even better in real life, an absolutely beautiful car.
The Dan Gurney Garage display was amazing, one significant car after other, all very nicely presented. As Jamo mentioned, the GT MKIV was fenced off and there was a representative from the Ford museum that was on hand to answer questions (and keep an eye on the car ).
One thing I heard, which you probably already know, the car was repainted soon after the race but other than that, it's in as raced condition. Also, I think Jamo's camera did a better job of capturing the true color of the car, the photos from my camera seem to make the car appear a bit more orange than it is in real life.

Brent,
I couldn't make it this year, but I asked a friend of mine that did make it to take pics. He's just getting back today. Since the car was fenced off, probably close to the ones above. If he has anything different, I'll post. Either way, I'll send you a PM when I have them. They should all be in pretty hi-rez.
Michael
