Anyone here own a Cutting Edge Cobra?
I saw this cobra at Knotts several years ago. At that time I thought they had one of the neatest suspensions on a car. I have never seen another so
I was wondering if someone here has one and could vouch for the handling. I just like the design of the whole package. A little on the expensive side but there is a bunch of tech there.

Hey, I represent that remark!
Yup, beautiful design, but they have changed the design piviot points since my car. I changed springs and shocks to find the right feel. Have not driven other cobras so I can't really compare.

Ron,
Wasn't asking for a comparison. I see the photo shows you or someone else driving on a track. Were
you pleased with the handling and did you ever have a pro driver wring it out for evaluation.
Like any new design people want to know what the difference is and why the change from the norm.
The car is beautiful on the outside. It's those techie bits I'm curious about.

Ed, I saw it in person. It is impressive to look at.

They are right here in Manteca less then 5 miles from me.
They build a great looking car and the suspension looks great. The only problem with a company that designs there own suspension components (that is totally different that any oem) is trying to replace them if something breaks.
Here is their web site, www.cuttingedgereplicas.com/

Never had a pro driver give me an opinion of the handling. I can tell you that with new koni shocks and lighter springs, handles better on the bumpy
streets in San Francisco. It is tighter than my Shell Valley Daytona Coupe and my '88 lowered BMW M6.
However, with that said, I would think that a Kirkham, SPF, ERA, and FFR having more cobras on the street/track, would have tweaked and optimized their suspensions.
Billet is great for shows, but not necessarily better for racing. How many race cars have billet suspensions? It's the design, angles, unsprung weight and testing. I'm not an engineer, but just my $0.02 (I spent $$$ tweaking the shocks and spring rate, and there are less than a dozen CER's out there)
Ever see John's JBL suspension? All business, very nice.
Yes, Cutting Edge Replicas is in Manteca, but I believe they have stopped production. I broke a brake caliper bracket a few months ago and they sent me another one in a week.
Long story short, didn't spin out on the track (probably driving too slow), had a good time, so it handles fine.
Chris (Boss429?) also has a CER with a newer suspension, in central CA.
