Need help to pass New Jersey SEMA Bill
There are 2 bills that need to be passed in the Assembly and Senate similar to the bill that Massachusetts just passed. The bills are S687 Sponsored by Senator Sarlo and Bill A448 sponsored by Assemblyperson Charlotte Vandervalk and Gary Chiusano. Contact the folowing people in the Senate Transportation Committee: Nicholas Sacco Chair and Donald Norcross Vice Chair. Senate Law & Public safety Committee: John Girgenti Chair and Donald Norcross Vice Chair. Take notice that Donald Norcross is Vice Chair on both committees. The Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee Bill A448: Gordon Johnson Chair and Nelson Albano Vice Chair.
Please forward this information to other sites that you frequent.
Steve at SEMA said that these bills will not move unless we have more support from the custom car and hot rod enthusists in the state.
Right now Kit cars and reconstructed vehicles can not be registered as classic or historic vehicles and are subject to emmissions based on the year of the engine block. We fit all the other criteria such as insured for limited use and driven less than 3000 miles a year.
