I was at a show earlier this year with lots of Cobras where a guy showed up in a four wheel drive Cobra with a Chevy BB in it. They made him park WAY away from every other Cobra, original or replica......

I'm sure I don't know the whole story and it's just hearsay since I was not there, but there is/was a story of a SAAC convention some years ago where a CSX4000 owner wanted to get into one of those panorama pictures with the CSX2000 and CSX3000 owners in attendance, but was not allowed by SAAC officials.

I believe this video is a product of that incident. The CSX4000 owner became very upset and probably said many similar things to what is talked about in the video.

Whether that was Evan or not, as depicted in the video, is something that may never be known.

It was the SAAC in Fontana...

Lynn Park was atop the pits roof with a mike and giving directions to all of the originals for a photo shoot pic.

All of a sudden he barks out something like "get that CSX 4000 out of there" and the driver burned rubber in reverse and tore out of there totally pissed while the whole place erupted in laughter.

... I don't care who you are, that had to hurt.

Oh man, "called out" in the midst of the brethren? Yeah, that would be painful to say the least.

I wonder when the call went out, over the loud speaker, bullhorn or whatever, what was said to make the CSX4000 owner get into his car and drive it over for the picture.

Since it was Fontana, then one must assume that it was not Evan. Since based on his prior postings, he thought that any SAAC convention West of NY/NJ (say for example PA) was considered the West Coast.

The call was for "original Cobras."

It was not Evan.

I was in the Concourse d' Elegance at Dana Point this year in June. If any of you were there, you saw my car alongside three original 2000-series slab sides. I told them 3 times prior to registration that it was a 4000 Series, but I guess they didn't get it and I ended up out on the front fairway along side these cars. The owners of the other Cobras were very nice and "cordial", but I wanted to die all day....

Hehehe...during a Shelby/Ford celebration at the Monterey Historics several years ago, I was pulled out of line when I drove in with other replicas and directed to park with the 4000s in the featured marque corral on Saturday. The parkers wouldn't listen to my assplination. The 4000 owners weren't happy (maybe also cuz they were separated from the originals by the Mustangs) and evidently b!tched about it. Next day I parked with the fun group, which included originals and all kinds of other replicas.

Ass ok, I was finally invited to leave the corral at the end of day Sunday after doing a rather pronounced burnout while we waited to leave the track after a parade lap...Bob Marsh and Gary Patterson were egging me on from atop the Shelby trailer next to the track ("you poossey!")...I sorta filled the Flag Room tent with boiled rubber. No matter...my work was done.

Turned out Morgan LeBlanc gave the order for me to leave via radio from wherever he was perched...da basturd. We became compadres after we met down in Vegas.

I always try to remind folks...Cobras are supposed to be a reason to come together, not divide us. Hell, I don't mind if a 4000 wants to park next to me.

I wonder what would happen if, over that bullhorn or loud speakers, a call went out for original GT500's and the Shelby-authorized Eleanors drove their cars over for their panoramic picture.

As I mentioned above, at the Dana Point Concourse d' Elegance, they parked me next to three original *REAL* guys. All 2000-series and some beautiful cars. I must say that the one thing I noticed was the draw of attention my car got from the less-informed spectators all day....shiny pipes, big engine etc. Those that knew Cobras went straight to the other cars. Those three guys placed 1-2-3, and I got a "consolation" #4. BUT, when the photographers came around to take pics with their model, they picked my car. So, at least I got the girl!!

Not sure of the car numbers, or if any are members here, but the other three were as follows:

Drew Alcazar - Phoenix, AZ (Stunning 100-point car)
John & Shirley Gerardy - Escondido, CA
Lucy Rawlings - Balboa Island, CA

I remember that "burn out" story Jamo, that's a classic!

....I'm still pissed Morgan beat me at the 1/4 mile (SAAC-35), I offer no excuse, but will be looking for a re-match, (da bastard).

Good times with the Cobra all around.
