Default Thar she blows !

Well I was taking my brother for a ride in the Black Pearl today when after a spirited run through the gears the engine let loose mostly steam from the driver side pipe and some antifreeze .It was a bummer for sure but it was amazing how many people stopped to help ! a sincere thanks to all that stopped , I did not get your names but it was much appreaciated.
I am going to tear it apart friday so watch out we shall return ...WD

OW! Sounds like a blown head gasket or a dropped valve.

Could just be a blown head gasket. Same thing happened to Greg (one of the South Bay guys). Good luck with the repair.

I was talking with Wetdog earlier and he said when it went he heard a bang (like hitting your fist on the body) and when he tried to crank it after he stopped it was locked up. He also has water in his oil. Sounds like a cylinder is full of water/antifreeze. Hope he did not hydraulic a cylinder and bend/ break a rod.

Might be an failed intake manifold gasket, especially if its an FE. For an FE, look for water in Cyl's 1, 4, 5 0r 8

Hydraulic lock, remove the spark plug. Do not attempt to crank engine until the liquid is vacated from the cylinder. Easy way to damage a Connecting Rod.
