New Cobra owner

Congratulations, and good luck. Every time you open the garage door (especially if its one from in the house), you will have that performance smell that the car gives off. You just realize you have a performance/race car with license plates, and IT'S ALL YOURS.

Hey guys,
I'm a newbie here because I just bought a Hi-Tech body and frame for a 289FIA. Naturally, I'm dying to get this thing running but I have a tremendous amount of work to do first. I need parts! The drive line I can handle but everything else needs to be acquired and installed. I currently have a GT 350in restoration so available cash is also an issue. Therefore, I think the right approach is start on all the aluminum panels for the interior, front end and trunk. So I don't have to craft these pieces from thin air, are there drawings or specs available somewhere?

Is the mirror mounted on the left side of the winshield?

Would it be possible to mount one on my SPF?

Could you make a close up of the driver side mirror?

I took delivery of BDR #935 from Reg Dodd on September 14, 2010. Reg and his crew were the best.

My brother and I drove the Cobra from Boynton Beach to Maine via the Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville, NC to Summitt Park Raceway in WV. Absolutely awesome car to drive. My brother is a life long Corvette guy, however we has to agree to take tunrs driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. I could not get him from behind the wheel.

Men over 50 knew imediately what the Conras was. Under 50 and most women had no idea what a Cobra was, but universally loved the car.

Its soon to go into storage for the winter.

I am looking forward to planning road trips for 2011.

Thank You very much for the compliment! SPFs aren't bad either LOL

The mirror is mounted to the windshield frame and works really well in terms of having good visibility with no vibrations. You can buy it directly from Backdraft but it has a logo on it even though it is really hard to see that it's even there.

Funny you mention the smell, my wife talked about the distinctive smell of the car this friday after we came back from happy hour on the car. She asked me to keep the door of the garage closed to keep it out of the house but I rather like it so I leave the door open

I think I took delivery of mine on the 16th ; post pictures of your car because I probably saw it at Reg's shop when I was there the prior week.
I'm jealous about yours and your brother's drive!! you already drove your DBR through some awesome scenic roads; I hope to start on some long drives of my own in a few weeks; I have too many business trips planned for this time of year so thus far a lot of short drives and only a few 50 mile outings for me.
BTW, start checking around the whole car for loose bolts, these things vibrate nuts and bolts off a lot in the beginning
