I'm glad everything went well with Jeremy/Zehr. I too was amazed at how good the coverage is and how reasonable the rates are.

I sent you a couple emails, including one about the cruise which is with the Highway 43 Car Club. Even though they're based in Kemptville, which is a bit out of the way, I like this group. They have a regular Friday night cruise-in and do many of these little day trips. And they have a couple of big shows. Plus it's free to join.

This Sunday the club is meeting at the Food Basics in Kemptville at 09:30, leaving at 10:00 sharp. The route is a secret, and we're headed to see someone's private collection. Check out the Hwy 43 club website. If it's a sunny day I'll be there in my Cobra; if not I'll be there in my Miata. My buddy Rick will be there in his 1973 Gran Torino.

Hey Brian
If you do go for that cruise on Sunday make sure you take your camera. I'd love to see some pics.

Enjoy!!!

Sean, I hope you received the car OK yesterday. It was a nice dry (but chilly) day. I had the Cobra out for about two hours, but it's gonna rain/snow today so I'm gonna take the Miata for the Hwy 43 cruise. If you have another fun car with a roof, you could still join us. We're also hooking up with the National Capital Corvette Club. Brian

Unfortunately the weather yesterday was crap, so most of the car club members showed up for the cruise in their everday drivers, not their classic cars and hot rods. That said, we had a pretty good turnout and hooked up with the Cornwall car club to tour the Tackaberry collection.

The Tackaberry collection consists of nine buildings full of heavy trucks, tractors, snowmobiles and other vehicles. Not really my thing, but interesting nonetheless. I didn't take too many photos, but there are plenty of photos on the Hwy 43 Car Club website.

Picked the car up Saturday, a little chilly, figured out the top and windows ( still in the bubble wrap from spf) The car is flawless. It has 4000 miles but is in new condition. Drove it home around 11:00am, took the top off, took a few buddies and some neighbourhood kids for some quick spins, brought it home and stared at it for pretty much the whole day. This car has excellent road manners. I didn't know what to expect but I didn't expect this level of engineering. These guys have their stuff together. I can't wait for some good weather. The crackling sound of the Roush motor through the side pipes is probably the most beautifull noise I have ever heard. This has been my dream car for 35 years but could never quite get the universe to align. It was worth the wait! I'd love to see yours sometime Brian.
Lets pray for an Indian summer.

Ottawa1967

Welcome to the SPF cobra group

I am in BC and also a new owner of an SPF , Brian put me in touch with the seller in NewBrunswick and it has been a great journey ever since

There is nothing like the open air and the sound of a cobra to make the stress of a long day at work go away , hope you have lots of fun with your new wheels but do be careful as I have found out these cars need to be respected and are not for the faint of heart

Rob

Sean, the long-term forecast for Saturday is sunny and dry. If it stays that way, I'll have the Cobra out for sure. Wanna hook up?

Rob, any chance you could drive out here from B.C. to join us?

(I know, I know, not funny...)

Nice photos Brian.... I agree it's different!! Too bad about the weather, seat time is at a premium here in Orillia. Chevelle might be getting sold today..... "fingers crossed"

Good luck, Stu. If it sells, can you still pounce on that silver SPF before it goes to auction?

I sure hope so!! I have emailed Ryan again but so far no response. If the Chevelle sells today then I'll be phoning him for sure.

Wendel's Cobra sold at auction this weekend for $42,075 CAD including buyer's premium.

Anton's silver/black Midstates did not sell at a high bid of $29,000 CAD.

Congrats on your purchase...
You probably won't get much driving in this season...It's Winter up there now right?
You can go right from "Purchase" to "Personalize" and "Improve" all in the same week...
Make plans to come down for the London Cobra Show too...

I'm not surprised at all that Anton's didn't sell. That price doesn't seem that bad for Wendel's.

I saw both of those cobras at the auction and I must admit I was disappointed in both. Those kits are no where near the shape of a cobra.
Wendels car brought 42k beacuse it was wendels. I think both had smallblock engines as well.

I looked under both hoods and they were a mess too me. I was disappointed in my contemporary but after some time and money spent I realize that it may be one of the best plastic cars available.
