Ron:
I called Redline at 1-800-624-7958. I also sent a sample of their oil to Blackstone for analysis. They confirmed Redline's numbers. Redline also has lots of Moly.

Dont know if it is true but a guy once told me oils with high zinc and phosphorous smell similiar to gearbox oil. When I dumped the 15w50 mobil out it kinda stunk like gearbox oil and it does have the 1200ppm? zinc / phosphorous.

Anyone can get the zinc and phosphorous they desire in any oil by using red line break in additive and following their ratio to get the ppm you desire. I poured some in a cup with oil and the two completed disolved into each other.

FYI: The following was copied from the Mobil 1 website...

Question:
Can Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck be Used in a High Compression Car?
I was wondering if Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 is safe to run in a standard American unleaded fuel only V6 DOHC high compression car? 5W-30 does not cut it for my needs and I want to use 5W-40 FULLY synthetic motor oil. So my question to you is, Will Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 have any ill effect on the motor I want to use the oil in? What makes the diesel oil so special? Does it supersede the oil made for gasoline engines?
-- Rick Speare, Clinton Township, MI

Answer:
Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck is an outstanding oil that can be used in gasoline passenger cars since it carries API SM credentials, so we would not have any concerns about performance. Diesel engine oils generally contain higher levels of detergents, dispersants, and antiwear additives, but keep in mind that higher levels of the ZDDP antiwear additive can be detrimental to catalytic converters and other emission control equipment over time, which is why this additive has been reduced in ILSAC GF-4 oils. Also you will not see optimum fuel economy benefits with diesel type oil.

I like the turbo diesel oil visosity range. I just had a tough time digesting diesel oil and it additives in a gasoline engine. I am about to do a write up of all my oil visosity / pressure findings. I have tried 10w30, 15w50 and 10w40.

I stumbled across a valuable piece of information when it comes to filters. ALWAYS USE A MOTORCRAFT FILTER!!!!!!. The majority of filters have their bypass valve in the bottom "dome". This is a pathetic design, if the filter bypasses, which it does on startup due to the high viscosity it washes the dirty side of the filter element back into the engine. The Motorcraft has its bypass built in at the top by the threads. When it bypasses it bypasses the filter media straight to the engine not flushing the dirty side of the filter. If you use Fram just put an empty filter housing and run no filter medai, it is almost criminal how pathetic their filters are!!!!
