Well-that's the good news at least. Preferably not in our lifetimes either.

Harks back to Gerald Wiegert and the Vector(s). But at least he could write ad copy and understood technical specs.

I agree it doesnt look good at all. I wonder why people try and do a modernised version of something that looked tremendous in 1965 and still looks great, none of them have pulled it off including the V10 one-off effort done not so long ago that "Ol Shel" approved!

Front lights from a Mini, rear lights from a Porsche Boxter and far too small wheels inside too large wheelarches look like lost. Low profile tires just dont look right. And the general design is just hopeless.
I think it is a waste of time to try to improve on the original Cobra design. It is perfect as it is. I would rather start from scratch and try to stay away from the aerodinamic touches, which just make every car look the same. You want to stand out because of beauty or masculine looks, not because of ugliness. And as for the price, just take the first digit off and you are closer to what could be paid for it.

Good luck getting this car in production and meeting FMVSS and CARB regulations, especially in 2012 when they finally produce a real car. It is one thing to build a one-off prototype but a whole different thing to build real customer cars that are not sold as a kit or rolling chassis.

As the car sits in its photos it does not meet FMVSS for lighting, 2.5 mph bumper crash protection, occupant safety (air bags, seat sensors, side crash, and probably not rollover), does not have ABS or roll stability control. As for CARB how are they getting 800 hp through side pipes with cat converters and meeting emission standards.

One of the biggest things that killed the Ford GT program was the need for occupant sensors in the seats for the air bags, which would have been multi millions to develop, along with the radical changes needed to the bumpers to pass 2.5 mph crash (would have killed the look of the car). If Ford couldn't make this work in 2006 with virtually unlimited resources what makes these guys think they can do it on a shoe-string budget with limited resources??

And all of this above doesn't even factor in the "Carroll Factor"......when he files a cease and desist order and ties them up in court for 24 months at the minimum, whether he could win or not.

I give them 9-12 months of taking a few orders, never delivering a car, and quietly slipping away.

slider701......at one time, or might it still exist, was there an exemption for low production , however defined, cars ? Not sure, might have been for something else.

I guess if all else fails, they could go the kit car route and still offer their own engine/transmission package as an uninstalled option, to be installed by the dealer and warranty would be separate. But at the asking price, probably limited interest

Anyone aware if there have been deposits placed for future purchases ?

My favorite line in the ad copy is "into the groundswell of economic recovery". Yeah right.

I really don't dislike the car but neither would I pay $475K for it. But I think the most common question an owner of this vehicle will get is.... "Now, which kit is this one?"

$475,000??? Slightly out of my budget! Does anyone know how many of the 100 have been sold, if any?
I guess the positive side of it is if they can sell some, that means the economy must be doing a lot better!
