Sorry guys, but this myth could be true. The output of internal combustion engines that run on gas gasoline is a complex mixture of partially combusted hydrocarbons that includes, among other things, a variety of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), many of which are carcinogenic. Not sure about you guys, but I smell like gas when I get out of my Cobra which leaves me with little doubt that I am exposing myself to all kinds of bad stuff.
How do I know this? PAHs are what I use in my NIH funded research to injure lungs and lung cells.
