ZAINO Products
For anyone that uses it, I am thinking of getting some. My cobra has a nice slick paint job now but with some very fine scratches on it, like from a towel or something. There are none that are deep enough to feel. I would like to make the paint as wet and deep looking as possible. Looking on the Zaino website I had gotten confused so I called them for clarification and got some advice. My question to users is ' Do you need Z-AIO as a base along with Z-5 Pro? Also do you use Z-2 Pro along with Z-5 Pro? I see they recommend the Z-FX accelerator if you want to apply more than one coat in 12 hours. If I don't want to do that do I still need the Z-FX accelerator?
Basically I was told I need the following; Z-AIO, Z-FX, Z-2 Pro, Z-5 Pro and and of course the enhancer and car wash. Any advice would be appreciated. I see Griots Garage has products also, does anyone recommend them instead? I see a lot of good user comments concerning Zaino.

YOu can just use the AIO initially and then top it with the Z-2 Pro. The Z-5 is only if you have a lot of swirl marks like you typically see on a black paint job.
Then you can use the Grand Finale Spray as a touch up.

Zaino is one of the finest waxes/polishes you possibly use. Go to the main Viper Forum, those guys know everything there is about Zaino.
Zaino brothers will just about do anything for you, except apply it!

That Z8 is magic stuff. Really makes the paint pop. You can even use it over non-Zaino top coats and it still does an amazing job as a quick detailer.

Why do some people use alternating coats of Z-2 and Z-5?

Q= Why do some people use alternating coats of Z-2 and Z-5?
A= Enhances the wet look and depth of the luster ( opinion ) , if I recall correctly.
But, going to the mentioned Zaino web site will provide more/better answers

I have been using Zaino on my Corvettes for years. After I got the Cobra I used it, and there were a lot of guys thought I had the car painted, it made it look that good.

I have also used Zaino and Meguires products and they both work great. The other thing you can do is call your local diaper service and buy ten pounds of the clean, sanitized but, reject cloth diapers. Costs about $50.00 but, they are soft, lint free and will not leave behind the scratches that even microfiber cloth will.

mkassab, nice looking!! I love the paint. I ordered my stuff from Zaino and I hope my car turns out like the ones I've seen from people that use it. From the Zaino website it does sound like it is very easy to use. I do have to invest in some nice cloths before I use it.

Oh, it's very easy to use..... and follow the directions. You hardly use any. I use a large 2oz syringe (you can go to a drug store and buy a few…. Just wash them out well and reuse) The syringe is better and easier than their 2 oz bottles. Anyway, I put 1.5 oz of Z5 with 6 drops of ZFX to start with. This is enough to put 3 coats on. Obviously, you have to have the body prepped per the directions.
Good luck, Mark

How long does the finish last before it has to be applied again? Is it a once a season project, or does it have to be done multiple times?

[b][ I have used the product since Batman first painted my car in 2006.
He suggested it as it was the only product that he knew that (didn't) leave a residue. I use the Z 6 almost everytime I bring the car home after a long drive. I use the Z2 for filling in the minor scratches and the Z5 for a gloss shine. THen, if I still have hands left......I use the Z6 over top. It is a 4 year old car...and honest to God....it looks NEW!! I never use water to clean unless absolutely needed.....which has been 3 times in 4 years. It is amazing how it never builds up. So, there is my facts that may help you. There are a lot of good products out there. Zaino is just so easy to use, gives the greatest shine and not expensive.
BTW....my car is dark silver with a black stripe.
Hope it helps...........

Thanks FredZ, I appreciate the info. I ordered my stuff and hope to get it on Monday. I was invited to an indoor show on Dec 3-5 so I want it to look as good as possible. Plus I have some fine scratches on it that I would like to take care of. I look forward to using Zaino and getting the results everyone else say they get.
