My wife (and kids) love it. Bought it new 4 months ago and I’m approaching 2000 miles already. Wife is always bugging me for a ride.

Quality time for my wife is spending a morning cruising back country roads (w/ an obligatory stop at a restaurant/winery/store). Quality time for my son is helping me wrench on it (or his supercharged Miata) in our garage. Life is good.

Win/win for me.

I don't knock anyone for not driving their car, to each his own, I just don't "understand" it. My insurance is for unlimited miles, I don't spend money going out drinking like I used to do, and driving this car is what I do for fun/relaxation. I guess it is the kind of thing where if I have to explain how it makes me feel to someone, they would not understand it. Like 209 said, this has been a dream of mine for 42 years and I love every second I spend behind the wheel. The great thing is we all enjoy these cars in our own way!

3 years, 3 engines, 14,000 miles - most fun I've ever had in my life, best friends I ever made in my life, worst financial decision I ever made in my life - and I don't regret one single second of it.

209,

I have had a really crappy weekend and first part of the week, so I have been in a real crappy mood. The post just hit me the wrong way when I read it.

It is great that you have enough time to be able to drive yours so much and a lot of us do not have that option.

Take care and drive the he!! out of it.

RodKnock made a valid point earlier, don't know if it was tongue in cheek or not, but still valid.

Some folks don't need to drive them, the car itself can be considered a piece of art work, like a sculpture. You don't drive a sculpture, or a painting, you just enjoy having them around. It's a great conversation piece and for some, that's enough, it's cool.

Me? Being an older Cobra, with plenty of "patina" all around it gives me a certain freedom I didn't have with my newer, nicer looking Cobras. I'm over "worrying about it", another scratch, bummer but what the heck. Will it rain? The car will dry out, it's been rained in and on before. What if breaks if I drive it hard on the track? I'll fix it. I WILL drive it and I WILL drive it hard. Getting a few miles on the car increases your "freedom", and I like that!

I have owned my Cobra for 5 years and average about 400 miles a year, 90% of it on the race track driving it like it was intended to be driven. I get little pleasure out of driving it on public roads. It would be very easy to rack up a traffic felony in these cars. For me 10 miles driven in anger is much more fun and appropriate then putting around for 1000's of miles on public roads.

I love driving mine -- it is the quintessential freedom for my mind. -- need to figure something out, -- take a zip in the spf.

Wife loves it, she bundles up and verbalizes the occasional "wheeeee" or yahoooo at the correct time.

>> 9000 miles in 2 years driving.
