perhaps that is the car featured on a TV show that had a chair welded to the front fender where a native sat witha lasso to catch the fast animals...hence the need for a 427 vs. a 289?

However, I do have a few friends from Zim and they speak very highly about their country - except about Mugabe...
Give me a few weeks and I report! I need to prepare a bit more before I go.
BTW, it's a universe away from Nigeria, as is South-Africa.
My car wash buddy also spoke about a blue 289 at the local track until 1999 (in Zim).
But John A never heard about that car either. 1999 could have been a replica, but a 289??
