It's interesting that the car's provenance includes a mention of Larry Megibow. Larry was a fringe player in our 1970s Cobra Club period in New Jersey, and at one point, owned 6 or 7 Cobras, including one of the original Daytona coupes. His rise and fall were actually chronicled in Car and Driver. As it turned out, he was financing his Cobra fetish through a Ponzi scheme based in his Glass Car Company, a reseller that specialized in '63 through '67 Corvettes, It seems that he found a hole in New Jersey's car titling process wherein he could finance a car and then obtain a duplicate title from the State. The car was then sold on the new title, with the buyer never realizing that the finance company actually owned it. It all came apart (possible urban legend here) when he sold a 'Vette to the wrong guy (key Sopranos theme), who somehow found out that he'd been had. Larry ended up somewhat dead.

Uh-uh. Larry was caught up in Canada and sent to prison for a number of years. On the night before he was to be released, he suffered a massive heart attack and died. It was widely rumored that prison had effectively shielded him from "da boyz" he had screwed with, but once he was out, his ass was grass and they were the lawnmower. Guess his ticker couldn't take the excitement.

Ned:

Now that you mention it, I did hear that version. I like my screenplay better.

BTW, happy new year.

Default Csx3301

Does it have a 428 engine as suggested by the specs advertised?

Nope. Original 428 replaced many years ago with a 427 side-oiler.
