Default Why we love these things

So after a few weeks of bad weather yesterday was great! I had rolled the car back a little to put some things in my storage closet. And since it hadn't been driven in a few weeks I figured it would do the car some good to get some fresh air. I jumped in threw on the belts and away we go. After a few miles things sound and feel great. I was just running around the block, no jacket, no phone and then the car decides ....no go!! WTF now! Rolled to a stop but at least got off ot the road. Hmmm it's turning over, has gas ( I ran out last trip) but wait no sound of fuel pump! After going through it all the switch just decided to quit. NO on just off, thank goodness!! Tool box in truck, rig it together and away we go. Glad I didn't have to explain that one. A $5.00 switch the Cobera wins again, That's another rreason we love these things!

Terminal on the back of my ignition switch loosened and it shut the car down. I figured it out and got the car going. Just soldered it when I got back home.

What! You didn't have to pull out the scanner and get a code?!
I love em because you can fix them on the side of the road.

I tried to just change the serpentine belt on my truck the other day and couldn't get to it without special tools. Had to take it in and pay someone to change a belt!
First for me but, again, that's why I love the Cobra!

Mr. Lost
Please get it repaired and and go out and make some noise.
I have been in your beautiful weather for three days and I have not seen one Cobra yet! Sunlight, open roads, cloudless sky and not a Cobra in sight.
I can only dream of the barn$nake, sitting in the barn and shivering in
12 degrees and snow. Happy driving.

Cobras represent a simpler time. A new ZR-1 will run circles around these cars, but pretty much all of the new hot rods don't have a soul.

When I strap myself into the driver's seat, I have to cpompletely empty my mind and concentrate on only one thing.....driving!

That fact, alone, is worth the price of ownership to me!

RustyBob,
Make a Colored Pamphlet with that as the theme! If nothing else ALL the builders will buy it and pass them out to new owners! HP doesn't count, not even EFI any more, just good quality basic "Stuff"!

When you start getting tricky,....my oh my, keep a flatbed tow truck's number handy!

They are alive and they like to screw with your head. Example: I had one of those damn MSD caps with the little stupid ball come apart at the Fing in 2003...first time KMP184 made an appearance. Decided I would never let one of those put me on the side of the road again and that i would carry a spare.

I've had to replace the unused "spare" twice just because I wasn't sure if the graphite (or whatever) had a limited lifespan.

I have no doubt that if I stopped carrying the spare, the car would giggle a bit as it wound down and left me sitting miles from nowhere.

My car has never left me stranded. I have had to fix a few things, but out of all the toys I own it has actually been one of the most reliable. I guess I just might be lucky.
