Default Salvage Contemporary on Ebay

Somebody thinks they have a gold mine for $20k. I can probably buy a running one (with a lot of searching) for the amount they want.

It comes with a year supply of tetanus shots too! Wow, that's a lot of work right there! I agree, especially these days.

I'd have to agree. In my book it's worth around 12k. But you never know they may find someone

That rollbar brace is deadly for street use too...But that's the least of the problems with the car...

Heavons,
Would I love to fix that! But, definitely the price is double what it should be. The body work would be very simple, but time consuming. The rest seems to be easily obtainable-bolt on parts! Salvage title-no big deal!
DV
might watch this one.....

The guy is probably testing the waters. If he asked 10k and got it, his thought would be "Crap, I coulda' got more" . On another side, for somebody like me who needs everything for a Contemporary build it's a great collection of parts but not for 20k.

I don't know, it doesn't look all that bad to me. <seriously> Yes it requires a little bit of work, but nothing that a checkbook can't handle.

looks like the frame was hit. I hope the guy who buys it know how to do these types of repairs...

Sal:
Yes? it may have a swing to the right? Can't tell from the pictures if the hood/body got knocked over or if in fact it may have frame damage? IF it is, it still doesn't appear to be a major hit?
But, yes hopefully that final bidder knows what it is and isn't buying just for "fun"!

They show the body cracked on the right lower front. Whether that translates into frame damage or not..who knows.

It looks like it sat outside for a long time, or somebody drove it in salt? The underneath looks nasty. I am sure it looks worse than what it si, but looking at the engine and underneath, somebody didn't take real good care of their car.

I think this should be entitled, "Cheap-A$$ tires kill another Cobra". He spent thousands on the paint job and a hundred dollars for the GoodRocks on the rear? There's a lesson to be learned here.

I've been watching this cobra on ebay. This is the 3rd time the ad is running. The 1st was for $20,000, the 2nd was for $20,000 or best offer ( the seller declined a $16,000 offer ) and now its running a 3rd time. I agree, can't tell much if the frame is damaged yet. will need to remove the fiberglass damage and then measure out the frame. One nice thing about fiberglass is the damage looks much worse when all together then what it actually is once the body is removed. Fiberglass will crack, splinter and tear much sooner then the superstructure damaged. Still, $20,000 way too much. $10,000 more realistic. Heck a nice complete CR kit with motor/trans just sold on ebay for $16,000. A Yellow CR cobra sold at Russo & Steele for $70,000 plus 10% buyers fee this year. Wow. Had a 427 steel side oiler motor in it.

I don't think it looks too bad. I would be popping the body off to check alignment of everything and more easily access the necessary repairs. The guy advertising it had to be told what it was and seems to think it has a 390 engine because it has a 390 manifold on it. It appears he doesn't know what car or motor it is.

I think you'd have to buy it for the guy to let you tear it apart?
