All things considered given Tommy's previous comment about both guys being the drivers, IMHO maybe there needs to be two more categories added to the poll being:
a) Cobra wins by default: Tommy gets cold feet and buys out.
b) Ferrari wins by default: Blitz gets cold feet and buys out.
While this may not be what we all want to see, its a realistic conclusion, given the closer we get to the event there's gonna be a lot of soul searching going on by at least one of the players.
EDIT: Unless of course blind ambition, lust for the rush of winning and bragging rights take over and logic gets tossed.
Just sayin'................

Street tire, some, others no, you have to do some research!

It is a legitimate question though, it depends on the tires. I'm convinced there is no advantage doing a burn out with my road race slicks. They seem to take a LONG time to warm up and I've done it with and without and can't tell any difference. Pretty much that seems to be the case with the Bill Boards as well. It takes a full lap to get the road race slicks up to temp, a mild burn out don't mean squat.
Now the problem may be, I'm not doing the burn out long and hard enough. Without front brake control, not to mention a stick shift, it's all but a waste of time doing a burnout to heat the tires. Get serious or don't go there, I drive around the water myself...

People seem to think that tommygold is gonna sprain his finger while shifting.
These modern Ferrari's have Automatic mode. Hell, that's old timer technology compared to Launch.
Xavier is right. Euro's finest get demoralized ALL the time on open nights. I saw a Gallardo get SMOKED by a bug. The bug may have had a teeny bit of work.
Problem here is I can't figure out this blitzforce guy.

The more I hear from blitzforce the less hope I have for the Cobra

If they are sticky the fancy traction control will apply more power to them. Dont forget to turn it off for the burnout

Tommy, I think you should get Ferrari tech support on the line and ask them if a burn out, with the stock tires, would increase the available traction on a hard launch.
... or maybe not...

Then again, there might be a teeny bit of work done on the 458...

I ran the quarter at the first Shelby fest in Vegas, best run I had was 12.2 through the quarter, reaction time was 0.111, get some guidance from the timer on the Christmas Tree on launch, basically it was once it hits the yellow go hammer down. I had difficulty getting traction on 1st through 3rd gears, best method that equalled best time was a quicker shift from 1st to 2nd and modualating the accelerator. The motor was rated at 580 HP at the flywheel, revving the motor at launch did not help, I ran the rpm up to about 1750 and throttled from there. I walked on the track with my driving shows, the shoes would stick to the asphalt. Do not go through the water for a burn out, this would not help. Basically the run up was used for testing the acceleration. Also make sure where the timing lights are as they were not well delineated, I was letting up on the accelerator prior to the line. I ran drag races before and this helped the Cobra was a different beast with the inability to get traction, in my opinion the hole shot is where close races are won or lost. I ran against a lot of GT550's and a couple of modified GT's, the closest car I had was 2 lengths at the finish behind my car.

Trap speed
What was your trap speed, since most Cobras are traction limited you can get a pretty good idea of potential by trap speed. I would think high 120's and maybe 130 to have the potential to defeat the 458. I have seen a number of Cobras run over the years that did not even break 120 which means the RWHP may not be what they think it is.

...not to mention that aerodynamically speaking the Cobra's a flying brick.

For Tommy..............
I know you had mentioned Feb 25th as the date of the race, has this been booked and is there a time slot allocated?
BTW I sent you a PM.
