Believe Tom or someone stated that when the track is rented by a private individual for their personal use, all waivers signed relieving the track of any responsibilities, and not open to the public , the ET rules, etc., etc do not apply
Tom......correct or ?

131mph is impressive Tom. It must have been slippery and your traction control was working hard because 131mph is easily in the 10s.
I understand about the bet.
We just don't normally get this kind of situation and I think all of us would like to see something close to the same tire compound for our (can't wait !!!!) post discussions, But I understand completely where you are coming from.

Hi Lou. Thanks. I'm very glad to run on a tree and with drag tires. That would be a lot of fun and really interesting to see. But that's not what we were betting. In terms of my best time, I had one run at 11.22 at 132.5. So I do hope that in better conditions I could bring it down, and maybe even to the 10s. Would be amazing.
Don, the tracks have definite rules. Even with waivers, they set limits. Hence today's ejection.
My best, tom

I also told Tom i would bet him 100,000 that i would pass a lie detector test that asked me if i believed that I would be able to run new slicks of my choice the day of the race considering i didn't have real slicks on my car at the time and Tom declined this bet. This is the text transcript a day after we had already booked the bet and hours after he had posted the bet on this forum. Curious what your thoughts are.

Dan: “Slicks are all the same”
Dan: “I’ve got racing slicks”
Tom: “Well then you obviously have no issue with not cheating and
using the same exact ones. No changes!”
Tom: “If you get tires that are different then so do I and you are so

Don -- Yeah, I consistently had that R&T speed (128.5) beat. So if I can get the traction in warmer weather on a treated track, I should be able to beat 11.0.

How about a compromise?
What about Avon CR6ZZ tires? Not slicks, DOT legal, V-rated or other alternative (M/T's, etc.).

Warmer weather and higher elevation equals less horsepower.
You may not run as fast.

I'm only trying to help. There appears to be some disagreement on the tire issue. It appears some mediation may (or may not) be in order, but there are other tire alternatives, as I edited my original comment.
Avons will likely be my next tire and they're about the best alternative Cobra owners have in 15's, but the downside is the expense, at least to us mere mortals. And for the purposes of your bet, they're not drag radials.

Maybe compared to road race slicks, but Avons aren't drag slicks by any means. I'm not sure the Avons would give Blitz that much more traction in a drag situation, but they are probably the best overall compromise. The Avons are made as an all around use very high performance street tire, road coarse, high speed, etc, so I guess from that perspective they were built for the same intended usage as the tires on your 458. It seems quite improper to force Blitz to use real crappy tires.

The Avons would be a good choice for Blitz since he actually has his car set up for road racing. After this brief fling with drag racing, he can go back to road racing and use the Avons for their intended purpose.

Why are people referring to the Goodyear BB's as "crappy tires"??

All -- just so you know, this is the tone Dan and I take in all our exchanges. Picking somewhere to eat would be much harsher than this one. It wasn't us trying to verbally kill each other.
SB51 -- I think there's some confusion about what Dan's tires actually are. He has some kind of slick that says (I think) "Goodyear Eagle" on them. But he says they aren't BBs.
