Default Keyless ignition

http://www.digitalguarddawg.com/KEYL...--PG-1temp.htm

Has anyone tried the Guarddawg system? I'm thinking about picking this up for my car. It would function as an added security measure. Might leave the ignition right in place and wired but put a hidden junction in it that disables its use. Right now I have a key, pushbutton start, and a battery kill switch. I want to sit in the car, push the button (with the RFID in my pocket) start, and drive off.

Anyone who knows about the positive negatives of this system, speak up. Those simply trying to get to 16k posts by speaking gibberish can hold fire.

I would prefer to spend money elsewhere on the car, but I have my reasons.

Thanks.

PJ,

I could not get your link to work and if you don't want posts from Ernie, just block him.

Cool unit, never had one but don't some of the new cars now have that as an option?

Not sure of the advantage over a key. You still need the component in your pocket.

I have the Digital Guard Dawg push button ignition in my car and it works great. I removed the key switch and rely only on the push button. I also have a Battery Brain with a key fob remote to disengage the battery for an extra level of security.

The push button ignition is certainly not necessary, but I like it.

Every car we have installed this system or similar systems on we have ended up tossing it. There are all kinds of headaches with it working and not working. It never proved worth it in the end.
