I like the look of black pipes as they are more subtle and understated.

Man....I appreciate all the pics. Definitely going to have my pipes coated black. Roll bar and quick jacks look great either way. I like the black quick jacks and pipes with the roll bar either way black or chrome. Decisions, decisions. Now, I've got new 402 style headers that are ceramic coated in silver. Would it be odd to have black side pipes with silver headers? You really have to look where the two come together and the silver definitely looks good under the hood.

I love the black on black look but black on any color looks great. Less of a hot rod look.

How well does the black finish hold up....in other words is black prone to fading?

I gave up on VHT black paint and eventual fading on both of my Cobras, prior and present, and ended up having them coated professionally.

Two of the full competition cars approved by Shelby and built by Finishline Motor Sports.
Dark blue one 003, is an AC body. Mine is the guardsman blue. Bonus of using black side pipes is less heat. Can touch pipes by the door and not get burnt while it's running. It's a special finish it almost looks like Velcro.

Rustoleum BBQ paint rocks! I paint and let dry for 24 hrs. then take some 0000 steel wool to buff them to a shine. They look powder coated when buffed out.
