This is a fiberglass body made by John Paullus in Coos Bay Oregon. The chassis and assembly was done by Wade Fleming at Fleming Metal Fabricators, in Los Angeles California. The front and rear suspension, steering and differential are from a 1965 XKE Jaguar. All the parts have been reconditioned by a Jaguar Dealer, including the traction lock differential. The spline drive hubs have been replaced by XJ6 bolt on hubs, so American wheels of various widths can be used. Included are one set of 6" wheels and two sets of 7" wheels, one with Michelin street tires and one with Sports Car Special Goodyear track tires. It has a removable roll bar, complete top, side curtains and windshield wipers. The engine, vin # and black CA plates are from the donor 1965 Ford Fairlane. The 4 speed T-10 is from a Ford Mustang. The 289 Fairlane engine is balanced using stock parts, new pistons, a 262 Comp hydraulic cam, Edelbrock Hi-rise intake with 650cfm carb, World 2.02 big valve heads and a custom made Tri-Y header system. It dyno tested 221 hp at the rear wheels, which is close to the claimed 271 at the flywheel on the original Hi-Po spec. engine. The suspension is tuned for comfortable, but firm street driving. But, it could but stiffened up to track specs, with a change of springs and shocks. The car rides and handles better and smoother than the original cars I have driven. The frame is slightly heavier, resulting in a stiffer chassis. It weighs less than 200lbs more than an original car. 51% of that is on the rear wheels. The car is well sorted and could handle a 400hp 347. The hood is being repainted.
