I think I'm going to get back in the game...
After going for 4 years without a Cobra, I have sold my street/strip Fox body Mustang and I think I'm going to start plans for building another Cobra.
It's hard to stay away...
I think I'm going to go with a 427 street car. I'd like to do something a little different than I did last time; maybe ditch the sidepipes and go with undercar exhaust, get rid of the quickjacks, etc.
I acquired a nice little FE core a few weeks back. It will come out quite nicely with a stroker kit and some aluminum heads.
This project will be slower going than the last one. There are other priorities in the way this time, including my business, family, etc.

No question about it... an ERA is in your future. Send a check out to Peter P. today in order to reserve your place in line.

Money doesn't flow as freely as I'd like it to...
This may have to be one of those projects where I buy a frame and drool over it for a little while, then buy the body, etc.
I think I also want to use an 8.8 IRS instead of the Jag or 9" stuff. What I have planned for this engine will require a little more than the typical 3.31 or 3.54 rear gears.

Well, we all know Brent will be running a solid flat tappet cam in his FE. Brent's engine building consultant, Patrick, highly recommends it.

Yep, with cam specs that haven't changed in 45 years.

Not that fat, Brent knows I have the old c3az-k grind that came with the 8v 427 cars. They've come a long way in 45 years, so I would understand if he didn't want to take a "step back in time." Here's the specs of the K cam off of a Cam Doctor machine (not my machine). Basically it's 245/.525 at .050 -- 324 seat to seat. I have it installed 5 degrees advanced for an ICL of 109. It has a nice following over on the FE forum, but it's admittedly old technology.

Oye vey is right! For a guy that sets FTD only running to the haberdasher that's an amazing amount of tech for a .508/.509 'cool-sounding' cam.
OK back to Brent's build-so Brent, how many roll hoops you gonna need-six? eight? Better buy a bunch of hole saws...

I posted it because I know my ol' pal Jerry would enjoy seeing it. And I'm sure he did.

Jerry (and Brent) would use your cam to hold the shop door open.

I bet ol' Jerry loves that K cam. Not for pure racing, mind you; but I bet he still loves it.

You posted specs to a cam that Brent will NEVER use. And you call that on topic?
I really like my Crower hydraulic roller cam with a 112 LSA, 245/252 duration at .050 and .630/.651 lift.

Hmmm, you have a point. OK, in order to one-up you, if Brent will agree to use it in his engine I'll Buy It For Him. How's that?

I have a 360 core that I'll use.
For engines that I build for myself, I don't care to push the envelope a little more because I know what I'll be getting myself into....
It will most likely be a 445, Edelbrock heads, Victor intake, with a Comp or Bullet solid roller cam.
I tell ya what Patrick, I'll use a solid flat tappet if you pay for it. How's that?
