Need advice on titling a Kirkham

Looking at a new Kirkham on MSO.
The car will be registered/titled in Ohio.
My understanding is that the Ohio title has to read 2011 self assembled car.
I want the title to read 1965 Kirkham 289 cobra roadster or something close to that.
Any ideas on how to accomplish this?
Kirkham owners: how do your titles read?

When you title a car, you must follow the laws of the state you are in. Anything else is not Kosher and may cause you problems during future sale, title transfer, or even registration renewal in future years. It is not up to the owner what the title says.

Here in AZ, the rules are that the title says SPCN (special construction) or something like that, but the model and year rpresent the year of automobile you are replicating (i.e. 66 Cobra) or something to that effect.

Ohio General Assembly has been considering that for a LONG time. Now that everything has changed hands, I doubt anything will happen anytime soon.

crASH good call. I see they are looking for representatives on this. SEMASAN just got the additional ethanol in the already crap fuel booted for now. We need to support these guys and our hobby and keep abreast of what's going on like you are. Look at the ridiculous regulations our European and Australian brethren are trying to build cars to. As far as titling your car you need to find out what your state allows. I have a friend in the same state who registered his car as a Shelby, Shelby isn't a manufacturer, Shelby isn't even listed in the manufacturers, so mine is titled as a 1966 Ford Roadster?

When I looked back at that SEMA link, it referenced January, but it's not clear which year. Unless they keep that webpage up to date, there is no telling how old that post is, 'specially when you consider joyridin's observation.

If I recall, Summit Racing sent out an email almost 2 years ago on this since they are located in Ohio. At the time, the Dems were in charge of the General Assembly and the governor was a car buff. This bill was actually being debated over a year ago.

Not the case after January of 2011. The Repubs took over everything and all they want to talk about is abortion.
