Default Looking for some 427 cammer exhaust manifolds.

I'm finishing off a all oem 427 cammer motor and would like to put the stock exhaust manifolds on it. I understand when you purchased a complete over the counter cammer motor from Ford, they came with exhaust manifolds. Any idea where I can obtain a set of these manifolds? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to post that question @ fordfe.com

I thought they might be expensive. Search the FE Forum and I got this thread. One post states that the last set of SOHC exhaust manifolds sold on eBay for $10,000.

Here's a set sold in 2005, asking $3,500. Cheap!

A few years ago the Texas Cobra club had a member named Stretch. He had a set of these at that time. I am not sure if he still has them and he has not posted on the site for a long time but it might be worth doing some research.

I bet a nice set of headers are probably looking pretty attractive right now.

Yea, I have a few sets of exhaust flanges. I might have the local shop that fabricates headers come out and see what he says. Who makes headers for this thing anyway? Thanks for all the help.

This may be the biggest bang for the buck.

First, it would depend on what kind of car you would be installing the Cammer into and second, since the Cammer is so rare, there's probably no one that makes/sells off-the-shelf headers since every application (every Cobra) is different.

In fact, even no two CSX's are alike:

BTW, the only custom header(s) builder that I know of is Sanderson Headers in South San Francisco.

Headers by Ed has the parts. Don't think you'll find any originals. I found my NOS Cammer in 1996, still in an unopened crate, no ex manifolds.

RodKnock: Thanks for all the info. Call me crazy, but this cammer isn't going into a vehicle. It is part of a Ford FE display on a 4 engine custom made stand. All motors are restored to oem factory correct condition. Even all the bolts have been restored. Display includes a 1968 428 CJ with dual 4 carbs, 1963 406 three duece carb FE, 1965 427 sideoiler highriser with correct Lemans 4 barrel carb and a 1966 Cammer with dual 4 carbs. All 3 engines have the correct factory oem exhaust manifolds and I was hoping to do the same with the cammer. Once display is completed, and I learn how to post pictures, I will do so. I'll also be selling 3 orig cammer motors in various stages of being complete along with 427 FE motors/parts and possibly some damaged parts for people who want for art. ie... orig cammer pistons, 427 blocks, FE rods and heads. I also have a set of 427 highriser heads with 1 head being good and 1 damaged which may be repairable, but I don't know yet. My brother and I have been Mopar muscle car junkies and we are now turning to the Fords. This should all make for an nice museum type display we are setting up.

Do you have a picture?

If they are the ones I am thinking they are, I have a friend who has some and would probably sell them.

I sold a set of Cammer manifolds to Wayne Jeffers in Florida about 5-6yrs ago. He has since passed. Maybe someone on the FE Forum can help you.

I might be interested in some of the damaged parts for garage art.

Cammers are most likely going to be in the $30,000 to $40,000 range. All cammers are all oem parts. You will have your choice of Lemans rods or Alumn rods as I have 2 sets of each. Also have your choice of 4v or dual quad manifolds. Also have 427 S.O. and center oiler blocks, cranks, rods, low riser heads and approx 8 4v manifolds. Also have a complete 8 stack mechanical fuel injection system. Also have 2 FE Lakewood scatter shields and other misc stuff. Blown items incl 427 blocks, rods, pistons etc. Have 1 good highriser head and 1 damaged head also. Have quite afew Holley 4v carbs also. I'm putting the 427 Holley Lemans carb on the 427 Highriser I'm building for my display. That will have a set of orig long header type exhaust manifolds which came on the 427 Galaxy I think. The 2 sets of orig shorty header type exhaust manifolds went on the 406 tri-power engine and the 427 center oiler with the dual quad set up. This is all becoming alot of fun but much more work then I anticipated. Can't wait for it all to be over. I also have an orig Boss 302 alum 4v manifold with orig carb which I will be selling also. Already sold 1 of the 289 hipo engines and will build the other for the collection display also.
