Default Does this Factory Five Look Correct?

What do you guys think of this car and the outside hinges for the trunk? Do they look correct for a Factory Five? 9,000 miles. How would I veryify it was built at the factory? Thank you!

Standard orig equipment; hidden hinges are builder's option

The factory does not build and sell complete cars. Kits only.

It is possible this is one of FFR's cars they had built and then sold. The chassis number will reveal all.

Unless it was built by one of the employees, I'm not aware that there were any factory built cars. Looks like a nice basic build. It appears to have a 4 link rear suspension - this has been replaced by a 3 link (panhard bar) or IRS - both of which are substantially better.

I think when they say it was professionally built they may mean by a builder other than F5 - get the number and then call Factory Five and ask them.

If the car is being sold by a dealer they may not know any better than to say it was "Built by Factory Five Racing". So, if you call FFR and they say it wasn't, I wouldn't necessarily assume the seller is trying to tell you a story - they just may not know any better. That could be good for you as you negotiate price.

FFR never built any cars in their factory for sale to anyone. Many employees have their own cars, and some were built on the factory grounds. But they were built by the individual employees, and not by FFR.

The company comissioned a few cars here and there as show cars for SEMA and stuiff like that. But, again, they were not built by FFR.

5 lug conversion(or pin drives), 4 wheel disks, heat, PS/PB, The limits are more your wallet than anything else.

The car is decent looking Mk2, looks like a pretty average donor build

do you know the FFR number? it would be something like FFR1234K

you could probably find out a lot more info about the car with the number. . .

I hate to say this, but looking at their website, the car is priced at the high end of what "I" think it's worth. There are better cars out there for sale for the same money

Something that bugs me (just me though) is the four lug wheels. Makes me think it has donor brakes which are not up to the job in my opinion. (I built one with donor brakes originally though changed them later)
It may not be that way but it makes me think it is.

What is the FFR chassis #
It has wiper, heater, and a top (that needs installation), as a MK 1 FFR, for 23K, that is not a bad deal.

That's about right....his web posting is $28.5K which I think is high for that car.

I'm sure you've checked out FFCARS classifieds too. There are a few cars listed that I think are better "deals" (at least on paper) also in the mid 20's
