Ernie's ERA is for sale
Well boys, there is the shocking headline! Yup, it's complicated, but it's time for me to move in a new direction.
I was considering "cleaning it up", making it nice, putting in some new carpet, doing the detail, the pictures, buying advertising, maybe doing a consignment and all that. But, then, before I got started on the make over, maybe I'll just low ball it, keep it simple and move on.
I suppose I will have to list it in the For Sale section now, even that seems like to much work. I have a VERY full plate of "life" comin' at me like a freight train roaring down a mountain. I got no time.
$35,000. Side Oiler, with OEM High Riser heads and matching OEM alloy dual four intake. 9.6 to 1 compression, pump gas is all I've run in it. Motor is rock solid reliable and as fast as they come! 3:31 Jaguar IRS. I JUST put in a TKO600 five speed and new clutch, less than 1,000 miles on that setup! Comes with TWO sets of wheels and tires, one set for the track (hand grooved slicks so you CAN drive them on the street, but I wouldn't recommend it) and Goodyear GT-II's for the street. Both set's of tires are pretty new and have about the same mileage as the trans and clutch.
Has it been raced? Does a bear crap in the woods? This aint no trailor queen. It's 99% street but it's seen it's share of Auto X with a few trips down the 1/4. SAAC 35 I ran it at Infineon (man was THAT a blast)! Track tested, track tough, this in one RELIABLE and trouble free car that WILL get the job done! Parade, street, strip or track, bring it on!
It comes with an ERA factory soft top (all parts included), I never got around to finishing the install. It has a nice heater too (handy on those cold days).
Pictures in my gallery. Most of you guys know the car, some of the history, I've been around here quite awhile and will be staying around as well.
...and if it don't sell, I'm OK with that too. Right now, I need to stay focused on my house remodel. I'm down to a microwave and a can opener with one bathroom sink and a gutted kitchen and bath. I might have to setup a dam tent in the backyard before this is over.

Surprise, surprise! Hope the remodel goes well - at least the cold weather is
about done - just guessing mind you - hard to tell in Hawaii. Can't believe you
are trying to sell it - I remember the smiles every time you fired it up while
here. I am sure it won't bother you too much if it doesn't go right now.

Ernie,
Best of luck with the sale and the remodel. I hope you get another ERA sooner rather than later. Life's too short, you know...

BOOOOOOOOO!
Now instead of hearing old stories about your old sideoiler (pre-rebuild, high compression, big cam) setup, we're going to have hear old stories about your entire ERA?
Say it isn't so. "Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio?"

Details on the remodel? Ha Ha, now thats some thread drift.
Knocking out walls, rewire, new plumbing, jack hammering the slab floor, dust covering EVERYTHING. Removed three trees, giant ditch, then it rained, now a moat. Fell IN the moat trying to reset a breaker, mud everywhere, garden hose shower. It's been brutal man...

Say it ain't so! I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. I hope your momentary lapse of reason fades and you get back in the game in the next 6-12 months.
We can use your voice of reason around here.....but I assume that's not going anywhere.

I predict it won't sell... but only because anyone with half a heart wouldn't want to see you without it.

Well that's how it all started, maybe a little paint, wait, what if I just knock down this one little wall and...
The next you thing you know I'm in there with a sledge hammer and a chain saw.

Exactly. When I sold my former cars/Cobras for similar reasons...after those projects were done, it did not take long to figure out how to go back and replace it.
Ernie, you know this... at 35k even with a few chips and use you won't be able to buy it back or come close to replacing it for that price. Good luck on the remodel and sale.
