Impressive but an equally massaged V-8 will better that time by nearly 2 seconds. Last longer, too.

I've experienced both.
Tweaked out V-8s and 4-cyl Honda.
I'll say this - I have the greatest respect for Honda's engines & engineering!
I figure they make more engines than any other company on the world!
Think about it - automobiles, motorcycles, lawnmowers, chainsaws & brush cutters, & Marine engines.
They've run and won in F1, 500cc GPs and Moto GP, amoung others.
My Honda CBR motorcycle revs to about 11000rpm all-day, every-day, and on any-day... without fear of failure! Further, it will scare the pants off all you without even trying!
...and still return fuel economy numbers that are tighter than a frog's ar$e
Naturally aspirated I'm not sure many engine manufacturers get as much out of their cubic capacity as Honda does.
I figure those who knock the Honda clearly haven't ridden one :-)

Honda clearly excels in engineering. There's no question. I have owned Honda Motorcycles, and Honda cars in the past. Some of us just prefer American Iron, be it cars or bikes. My wife's Honda Accord was our first and last Honda car. The Honda bike was in the late 60's. My last motorcycle, while it won't rev at 1/2 the RPMs of a CBR, or go as fast as a CBR, the CBR will never (in my most humble opinion) look, or feel, or sound, or ride, like this:

How we got to hardly ablesons just floors me, doesn't even belong in the same thread with performance vehicles. They are the kings of huge displacement and low performance. Now before anyone gets their panties all wadded over those statements, I ride an old Yamaha FJ1200 and a Buell XB12X, both of which are sort of opposite ends of the bike performance spectrum but both are still performance oriented. The cruiser HDs that I have ridden only excelled in 2 areas mentioned, they look cool and sound cool. That’s it. Any other performance based measure is going to have them looking up to see the bottom of the barrel. My Buell, with its tarted up skirtster motor, is noticeably slower than my old FJ but still handles beautifully and stops without peer. All this while still being comfortable with an upright seated position. With the race kit on it, it also sounds great. Looks though are an acquired taste at best.
The point of all this is that I still don’t get why people continue to mention HDs as though they are performance vehicles. I honestly wish they were because then I could buy American and still have my jollies. I tried that with the Buell but now HD has even killed off that. Those dip-sticks are going to run out of octogenarians to sell too here in a few years and without any development they are going to slip back into an AMF like abyss. I hope it doesn’t happen, but those guys can’t seem to see the forest for the trees.

The reason this site appeals to me has to do with Cobras and American V8's. It's a place I don't have to see or hear about Toyotas or Hondas or any cars or bikes from that part of the world. I would rather walk then have one of those chain saws with wheels in my garage. Put them on their own web site where they belong.

Chainsaw with wheels? Ouch! But also agree! Have to admit it is amazing what these tiny motors can belt out for numbers,but we don't need to see it here.
Wonder how much Meriden has changed since the 60's.Only time I ever lived outside of Maine,1966 moved to Meriden.Before moving back North lived in Wallingford.One of our last big storms worked with lineman from that area,brought back a lot of good memories talking with them.They say I would not recognise much.Mike Ross
