Default msd question

hi,
yesterday i put a MSD pro billet distributor in my car, 5.o ltr efi, car was running fine with standard dist but now breaks up at about 4 k rpm, idles fine and double checked timing. also put new coil and spark plug wires. any thoughts on what could cause this?

Check the center electrode contact inside the dizzy cap. Should be carbon but nice and smooth as well as spring loaded. Also take a look at the rotor contact point for the center electrode and for signs of arcing in the cap.

Just a known place to start. Steve

MSD is very sensitive to voltage input.

The first time I had an issue I replaced everything in the system. Found out it was the voltage regulator. Put in a new one and all was fine.

5.0 EFI? Could be a distributor signal mismatch with the ECM.

Check the TFI module on the front of the distributor and the connections at the coil.... The TFI needs to have dialectric compound on the back...
