Grinding required on TKO case for SPF installation?
I'm doing a new engine/tranny install in SPF 2423. The original engine and tranny are long gone. Last week the 408w motor was lowered into position. Today, I along with some help dropped in the TKO 600 4617 tranny going in via interior route. I notice the case of the tranny above the fixed cross member is making contact with the cross member prior to the tranny mount contacting the mounting plated bolted to the cross member. Mount is 1/8" or less of making contact. It does not look like a problem with the integrity of the case if some material was removed. Before I line up a few people to pull it out (would like to keep it in) what has been done previously? Spacer plate under mount, washers, grind the case, etc.? Thanks in advance.
