Underhood mirror-finish panel
Can anyone tell me where I might find one of these?

I've used #8 mirror finished aluminum sheet on mine and it dosen't look as good as that. I wonder if it's a mirror film of some type.

I just looked up "mirror film" and "chrome film" on e-bay and found a few suppliers. I'm going to contact them to see if it will stick to aluminum and withstand the underhood temps.

#8 mirror finish stainless steel. Go to most precision sheetmetal shops (that has a laser) and they can laser one out for you. You will probably need to make a cardboard/paper template. Not going to be cheap though.
They actuall have paint that can do that now but the stainless lasered onw should be cheaper.

My ).040 aluminum #8 mirror finish for enough material for both the hood and trunk costs about $400 delivered plus trimming. Looks good but not that good.

there is acrylic mirror available, but it shows max temp is 200 deg F. might not last.
the only other choice is what was already posted #8 polish 304 stainless.
but if you actually check current stainless prices you might want to give up on having this.
the material before you cut it to fit will probably be in the 1000 dollar range

Ouch! $400.00 doesn't sound too bad but $1000.00? That's way too much!

in the past 2 years buying any kind of metal has gone up over 200 %
at our shop i only hold a quote for a machining customer for 7 days before i insist on re quoting. buying metal has become silly for us.

Have Ron Randall coat it in ss and then polish it. It would be a lot less than $1000!

I am guessing that the pictured item in the first thread was custom made and not available commercially?
