Where to buy Large Terminals for Ammeter Gauge???
I am trying to locate extra large female spade terminals for the Smith's ammeter gauge. I tried Nisonger, but they dont sell them. I have tried looking all over the internet, but to no avail.
The terminals on the gauge are 7/16" I was informed that i should not dare get any solder near the terminals on the gauge, so that option is out.
So, does anybody know where i can find these terminals???
Thanks

7/16" is an uncommon size. Most ring terminals are 3/8" or 1/2". Have you measured it to ensure it is really 7/16"? Here are my two favorite sources:
Terminals
Ring Terminals: Insulated & Non-Insulated Connectors - Waytek, Inc.

FYI, should you decide to take a different approach and not route your entire battery circuit through the back of the dash, Nisonger has the Smiths voltmeter that matches our gauges.

Yes, it is an extremely uncommon size and not an easy one to find a terminal for. I am not sure why they make them that large, but i am going to guess it is for an increased surface contact area to help with a more accurate current and reading.
And yes, i made sure to measure twice.

Check out the last post in this thread for a possible NAPA source.

People running the ammeter generally are doing it for originality. That spade size is just because of the whole amperage of the car running through your dash, which is why Jim suggests the voltmeter. Do a little reading on here before deciding, they can be a fire starter.

I started typing this up myself but then searched and found this article. It spells it out pretty clearly.

An excellent article. Not sure why anyone would want to have enough current to weld plate steel flowing through their dash...
