Ear popping?
OK, so I have a silly question...
EVERY time I drive by BDR over about 20mph and below 60mph my ears clog up like I'm taking off on an airplane. It's like the shape of the windshield and plexiglass side flairs create a vacuum in the cockpit at those speeds.
My ears have always been sensitive to pressure changes. But I was NOT expecting this while driving the Cobra. I have driven tons of other convertibles and roadsters and never experienced this before.
I was curious if anyone else has experienced this, and if there is a "fix"
It's certainly not a major issue, but it is a bit annoying....

Get a cloth seat cover so you won't be pulling a vacuum everytime you step on the gas.

Earplugs are a good idea anyways.
But I'm leaning more towards Ralphy's idea.
Funny how you never experienced this with other open cars...
The turbulence in a Cobra's cockpit should create a vacuum.
Were the open cars you've been in modern? They design them so good now.

Modern and old.
I have a 1965 3000 mark III Austin Healey that it doesn't happen in... And I used to drive a Mustang Convertible (1989) all the time without ear popping...
Weird...

Tried gum. I'll pass on the tobacco.
I guess I'll try earplugs and see if it helps. I have a set of in ear headphones. I'll try that first...
I guess I'm the only one this happens to...

Happens to me all of the time. Even in my DD (four door sedan). The wind buffering around your ears I guess. Of course I have hearing problems anyway.

Experiment with the wind wings and visors set to various angles ... maybe even try setting them in an asymmetrical configuration, so as to disrupt the airflow ... could be worth a try. |

Try adjusting the wings and visors to change the wind dynamics at speed... you may find a comination that helps.

Caused by eustacion tube dysfunction - a pretty common problem around here. Ask your doctor for a prescription for Nasonex nose spray, and use it every day. That usually resolves it.
