Cobra weigh-in
How about the weight of your cobras? There seems to be quite a range and I'm curious where the general average is. Yes, BB or SB certainly makes a difference, aluminum vs. iron another one, frame & chassis materials a 3rd, and I would imagine the overall design as well. So, to give any meaning to this poll it would be a good idea if we had some of those particulars listed below to make sense of it all. Please share your weight if you're not the bashful type, I promise we won't laugh provided it's mostly muscle
Big Block or Small Block? Iron or Aluminum (Block & Heads)? Replica Manufacturer & Model (FIA, 427 Cobra, GT40)? Total Weight = ? For total weight, we would also need to know if - 1. You were in the car when weighed? 2. If there was gas in the tank (# of gallons)? 3. If the motor was topped off with oil and anti-freeze? 4. Capacity of your oil pan (# of qts)? ----- |

Drivers weight in the car, no passenger weight Total weight 2578# --- 49.7% left side --- 52.2% rear weight --- 50.0% cross weight Without driver and fuel, <2300# |
bobcowan, pretty good to be fully loaded and under 2600 lbs. I noticed you have the accusump + external cooling pump setup. I'm a firm believer in that sort of engine "life saving" preemptive measures. Did you go with a full acusump system or plumb in your own cooling pump? I'm looking for a compete pre-oil and post shutdown oil circulation system for mine.
