Exact Cobra
Rodneym drove from Orange county to get a first hand look at my car. He is interested in a car Roger Bolick has that can be available by December. I wish Rodney lived here in AZ. A great guy. He spent an hour inspecting the car and, I think, was impressed.

So Roger is going to sell his last one that was suppose to be a demo? Saw it last year when I bought mine and he was incorporating all the changes he has made over the last 10 or 11 cars.

I'm lost. Rodney wants another Cobra? Or is he just buying the Exact for the magnesium wheels?
Rodney, you holding out on us? |
gsharapa - I guess it was/is supposed to be a demo but I believe he'd sell to an interested party...
Rodknock - The Autokraft is in it's new home in England and the garage is looking so empty...and the Kirkham so lonely  (if it's even real, right patrickt? You're confusing me with Evan. He has a Real1 ) BTW, the hype about EXACT is well earned. It's certainly properly named. I went to look at the car as a roller. That Cobra is really, really nice! The details are superb and that motor sounds like a Prius owner's nightmare. There's so few Exacts I felt I had to take the opportunity to see it. So I took the long route to work, so what? :JEKYLHYDE patrickt - How could you doubt your ONLY CC friend? ;) Just for that I'm not installing your 'Patrickt Approved' laser beam headlights or chaser lights around my license plate. One more comment outa you and the dressing room style vanity mirror goes too. BTW, have you considered stick on passenger rollbars? You could sell them at Pep Boys! PS - The coolest part about this hobby aside from the cars is the people. I'm sure it's been said a thousand times before but it's true. John's been there and back. Fighter jets, race cars and Cobras! We had a nice talk at lunch and I had a great time. He also called to see I got home ok. Class act! Thanks again for your time, John! :MECOOL: |
Why not buy John's red Exact? I believe it's for sale. ;)
I'm thinking about my next "project" too. :) I need to put less miles on the Kirkham. |
How 'bout some fresh padding?

thanks |
Rodneym
As you stated they really are impressive cars. I bought his demo (blue one) back in mid 2010 without the motor/trans (car only had about 35 miles on it) and he updated a ton of stuff on it for me including all new carpeting, seats etc. I then did a pretty nice finish out adding some other nice stuff including and aluminum Keith Craft 496 FE and TKO600. I only have 260 miles on it (so hot in Texas this year) but everytime I take it some where most are also impressed with the car. I've had a couple guys already ask me if I want to sell it (Guess most know I don't keep my cars very long so maybe that's why they are asking) and he really doesn't have any more other then that demo. Roger recently told me he's thinking about building some more cars...... A bunch of pics in my gallery of the car with and without the motor in it. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/SDC10541.JPG |
Rodney, are you at liberty to give any details on the Exact demo that Roger may or may not be selling?

Double Ugly's Cobra is gonna make someone REAL effin happy, for 20k less than a CSX. Ahhh, but what's in a name anyway? Gary - your build is literally etched in my cranium. From what I've seen you'd get top honors on the prestigious 'CC Build Awards'. :MECOOL: Patrick - why not use velcro? You can take them on and off in a minute, like at a car show, and they won't cut into the foam. (Did I just say that? Chas, I may have done a baaad thing. ;) |

1) The pads do interfere with the top (I don't bother driving in weather when I'll need the top). 2) If you wanted to remove them for a show, velcro is faster than cutting the zip ties and then having to use a dozen new ones to put them back on. 3) Most importantly, it might encourage somebody to actually pad their roll bar if they knew they could easily take it off when they wanted to. I have a buddy who is getting over a blunt-force trauma injury to the head due to a very minor mishap, but his head hit the unpadded roll bar.%/ I'll drop this tangent now though and let the thread go back to the original topic. |
Yep, John's car is really really nice as well as Gary's car. No doubt about it.
I barely drive my one Cobra, so two Cobras doesn't make any sense. But hey, most people think I have no sense anyway. |

The other thing everyone should know, Roger designs and makes a lot of cool parts for these cars. He made the hydralic slave cyl clutch setup with aluminum arm that is really cool, plus a 1 piece shifter arm for my TKO600 that's like the original but replaces the TKO short arm and sits down in the trans lower. Seems I spent more time looking at all his parts then the car when I bought it. Oh yes, check out these 4 bolt motor mounts....
