Default Winter Blues

It won't be long (Iowa) before the dreaded winter sets in.
What does everyone do for winter storage, other than some fuel stabalizer and a car cover?
My car will be in the garage that is not always heated.
I usually get away for 2-3 months where it is much warmer, and the sun shines. Thats one of the good things about being retired I guess, but on the other hand that puts some of us on the down hill slide.
Guess we can't have it all.
Suggestions for winter storage?
Thanks in advance.
Mike P.

if i had my car in an unheated garage, i might stick a dipstick heater in it to fend off the freeze. just a thought....
maybe a battery tender too, or remove battery and put in basement, if you have one

Definitely a Battery tender. Gas stabilizer and make sure the coolant is good for below freezing temps.
If its going to sit on concrete I would put down a sheet of plastic to reduce moisture coming up thru the concrete and condensing on the vehicle underside.
If its going to sit on the tires I overfill them by about 15-20 lbs so they dont flat spot. Otherwise block it up under the suspension.
Plastic bags in the tail pipes to keep out rodents or insects.
Pray for an early spring.
Good luck.

The Nut

AND a car cover.
