The new Shelby FE's use the date coded casting patterns also but the signature is on the ends of the heads.

That's Shelby's casting based on the medium riser head. Send them to me and I will put them to good use.

What I have appears different than yours. But I will describe mine. I bought them in 2002 from Mike LeFevers, then with Shelby. If I don't help you, try to contact Mike at Mitech Racing Engines-he helped design and R & D them.

They have a full C5AE-F in between the center exhaust ports but no sig there. Mine are signed on the left end of each head with 20 S 01 above the sig. There is a raised 'S' cast on the left upper corner which you can just see here. They are cnc'd, 79cc chambers, 2.250 x 1.75 valves and stage 2 cnc ported. They flow 320 and 230 at .600".
Hope this helps.

I should have mentiond that these heads are circa 1996 of 1997 if that helps... Was $helby selling engines then similar to how Roush or Keith Kraft ae now? Don't remember if there were too many players in the the engine dept back then...I'll add on other photo in a min...

Just long enough to get a beer.

Based on what original cast-iron MR's are selling for on eBay, i might be able to make the swap without too much-out-of pocket. I need to find an FE purist for my heads, they are uncut with 8k miles, and matching date codes.

Sideoiler this, sideoiler that, enough already. FE heads do not know, and could not care less, about whether the 427 they're sitting on is a side or center oiler.

Given that you were more interested in being smug than politely setting the record straight, I'll do it for you:

Many 427 FE side oilers (not all) were built and delivered in medium riser configurations, medium riser denoting the head and intake port dimensions. As a result, many people who are not quite so hung up on semantics, tend to bucketize the side oiler/medium riser/FE label.

Guys,
My reference to "sideoiler" was merely a way to help identify the head's in question current engine installation. I felt it narrow down their identification eliminating Windsor’s, SB's in general and Honda's Civics.....
I have since learned that the engine was probably purchased as a complete unit from $helby back in the late 1990's. Back then, the wide array of engine manufacturers available today was probably non-existent. As usual, thanks to those offering constructive feedback. CC continues to be the best resource for information in areas outside one's area of expertise...
FYI: This inquiry is related to the all aluminum Superformace MKIII currently listed on eBay. This is the engine installed in the chassis.

For info about it, I again restate the advice to contact Mike LeFevers-he WAS the engine program there then.

Thanks again. I'm just helping out the gentlemen who is offering the alloy SPF car get accurate information. I get a lot of inquiries regarding the past and current Superformance car sales. I have collected extensive records. And always glad to help.
