Interesting...three wipers.
Also note how high the steering wheel is on the dash. I don't know who the mfg is but there are some definite clues there.

Default Arntz Butler Cobra

I believe you have a Butler cobra or a frame made by Butler for an Arntz Cobra, maybe. However the number stamping on your frame is crude and untidy. Butler marked his frames with very neat number punching.

I will check my chassis/frame number sequence tomorrow it is a similar number and I don't remember without looking at it.

The Arntz/Butler frame is a give-away but more photos of the engine bay, trunk, Undercarriage, etc. will confirm a lot more.

The front suspension attachment brackets still have the original mounting points for the MGB suspension, but someone has grafted something totally custom in its place.

Look at my photo albums here in my profile and see if you see many other items in common.

Do a posting in the Arntz Butler Forum here on club Cobra and the Arntz/Butler guys will chime in.

Good luck with it.
Arthur

Judging by the welds on the front upper control arm, I'd be hesitant to drive that thing out of the garage...

Default Frame Number

After looking at my frame number. Your number 22 06 80 029 it looks like the frame was made in 06 June 1980 and your frame production run number 29. I do not know if 22 stands for the 22nd. day of June. Ron Butler came from
New Zealand he may have been using the Colonial date system for a while.

Those are NOT 'real Halibrands'. Hope you didn't pay like they were....

We need a better picture of the engine compartment, trunk, interior, and maybe rear axle set-up.

Should you ever decide to rectify the IFS you are in luck as a bolt on alternative for the MGB IFS exists. It is from a company called Fast Cars in Michigan.

It is far superior in quality and about 80lbs lighter than the original MGB. From a cost standpoint it would be very comparable. I totally rebuilt an MGB IFS for my Butler and the cost was almost the same.

Good luck with your toy.
