flywheel and clutch package

I need input regarding a flywheel clutch package for my csx8000 car. I'm looking for a 19lb. billet steel flywheel and a diaphram style clutch rated for 400 ft. lbs. of torque. The car will weight is 2100 lbs. with a 260 ci. at 300 -350 h.p.. Any thoughts?

Thanks

About the lightest billet steel wheel you'll find is about 23 lbs for a small block. A 16-18 lb aluminum flywheel should be easy to find. Is this for a race application?

The clutch kit is easy, available from both McLeod and RAM. Organic disc, light pressure plate, similar to a King Cobra clutch.

I would be happy to make a package recommendation for you.

This is a street car. I have a 1963 hipo out of a fairlane with a flywheel that ways 20 lb. this car should weigh in at 2100 lb.. I have found a cast wheel that is 19 lb., might be an off shore unit not sure. Maybe I can lighten a 23 lb. billet. Or maybe a lighter presure plate! Please recommend a package. I'm out the door in a few minutes for the SEMA convention maybe I'll find somthing interesting there.

I would advise against the use of a cast iron flywheel in any application.

For a street car, I like the heavier weight flywheels as you'll find yourself slipping the clutch more with a light flywheel. I personally would use something like a 24-25 RAM steel flywheel with a RAM HDX series clutch kit.

If you have to have a lighter flywheel, then one of RAM's 18 lb aluminum flywheels combined with the HDX clutch kit would be a nice tight package.

The HDX is rated for 450hp, but has no "exotic" clutch disc materials. Great products, very affordable.
