Default My ERA FIA Cobra on Ebay :(

Well the day has come... I've listed my much beloved FIA on ebay: Shelby : Cobra Shelby : Cobra - eBay (item 170746296176 end time Dec-17-11 20:38:55 PST)

It was my labor of love and mistress for many years. I've really enjoyed the car and I hope it will find an owner as passionate about it as me. I find myself missing the build and the challenges associated with assembling these cars. I've got a few other projects and she is just not getting the quality drive time. I want to Thank everyone here who has helped me through the years with invaluable info. You guy's are the best! I will still hang out here everyday as usual, even if she sells! I'm not going anywhere! Best Regards! Matt

Thanks guys for all the GREAT comments! I really appreciate the kind words. It's funny too, that ALL the comments were from FIA guy's!! That's too much. We've got to stick together! Sorry I haven't gotten back sooner but that's how it is these days and my boys are only getting bigger. I'm sad and I will probably have withdrawals but I really just want it to go to a great home. I really hope the new possible owner will appreciate all the hard work that went into it.

G-Pete, love the updates! I really admire your work there! It brings back a lot of great memories. Keep up the great work! To my ERA FIA brother en, you guys are the best and keep those cars looking sweet! Best Regards, Matt

Matt:

We've talked before, so I understand your reasons behind the sale... Hat's off to a very nice car and and advance welcome to the new owner (whoever that might be). Keep us updated on your other projects with build progress...you know we like that stuff, hence the celebrity status of Pete...lol I'll be watching your auction with interest as I did recently with Bill's. Take care!

- Allen.

Stunning FIA, Matt! Good luck with the sale. You should contact Flygirl and see if she is interested.

Beautiful car, and a great idea by mreid... that is if flygirl hasn't flown the coop -- her interest in Cobras seems to have waned.

Hi Matt,

I completely understand changing priorities. Hope your other projects go well. For some, the journey is more interesting than the destination.

Good luck with the sale. Great well sorted car like yours will most definitely attract the perfect buyer!

Alex

PS: Thanks for your continued support with my FIA. It’s FINALLY going to body & paint tomorrow!

I've pointed a few of my higher bidders towards yours, hopefully one or two of them will bid to buy........

Now is not the time to be selling, IMO. Bill's bids didn't even crest the $50k mark and his Cobra is very, very nice.

But it is a great time to buy, if the sellers really need to move on.

That is not to say I have not had a few offers after the auction was over

Just nothing worth accepting at this time.

That's a real beauty. Too bad you have to let it go. Someone's gonna get a real nice Cobra. Hope your new project turns out as good as this one did.

Thanks Guys!! I just took it the ole girl out yesterday and it performed perfectly. It's going to be tough for sure! I really enjoy how this car drives and it's great manners. I agree with the "Flygirl" comments and I always thought the same while reading her comments. It would be perfect for her as it is just the right balance of everything for a Cobra. I'll send her a PM.

Bill, many thanks too. Thanks for the advice and emails. I tried to get some more pics loaded but I kept messing something up. My computer girl (wife) is tied up with work and she is a little busy these days. We shall see how this goes. I always tried really hard to keep it "original" looking and attention to details. I hope others enjoy that too.

I will definitely keep posting on the new projects when I can get through the holidays, baseball, and Boy Scouts! I'm not going anywhere. I'd really go through withdrawals without CC!

Thanks again for all the AWESOME comments! You guys are great and have given me loads of inspiration through the years! All the best! Regards, Matt
