Default SEMA.... “Everything You Need to Register and Title Your Hobby Car in All 50 States”

I received this e mail the other day and thought it might be useful to some some of you.

'We receive frequent requests from customers who want to know if they can register a Shelby Cobra in their home state, how it is registered, and what is required. Our friends at SEMA have compiled vehicle registration requirements under the title, “Everything You Need to Register and Title Your Hobby Car in All 50 States”. The data is in a .pdf format so you can download and save."

It’s a great resource from the SEMA Action Network (SEMASAN), current as of July 1, 2011. State legislatures, in their infinite wisdom, continue to change the rules, and staying on top of those changes is critical to our business.

If you’re not a SEMA member, it’s worth joining if only to support the efforts of SEMASAN. They have provided model legislation already adopted by 21 states, and work hard to defend our category from those misguided legislators who would take away our right to own and enjoy Shelby Cobras under the guise of making us safer.

Ross,

Keep in mind that not all that is listed on the SEMA site is accurate information that pertains to Cobras and all states. Those that have adopted the SEMA "boilerplate" are up to date, quite a few others are not. I've sent them email pointing this out (as far back as August 2011) but they have yet to correct their slight misinformation.

Means nothing to a desk clerk at DMV... But a good way to understand how it is supposed to work.
