Thank You Everyone
Hello everyone and thanks for the Happy Birthday. It has been pain staking but i finally got the beast on the road. I went to get my enhanced safety inspection last Friday and was able to get a tag and take her on the high way. Sounds like it was easys....wrong. When i backed the car off the trailer and into the shop of the inspection station the brake light decided not to work delaying the process about an hour mind you this was about 5:30pm. I was fighting to get to the tag office so i could drive my baby home. Oh did i mention it was about 28 degrees outside. I finally got the brake lights to work and the paper work done around 6:50pm, tag place closes at 7:30 and it was 20 min away from the inspection station. I get to the tag place and we start the paper work. The man behind the counter asks me for my paper work, he reviews it and then begins to tell me that i will have to pay sales tax on all the summit racing recipts.OMG. Clock is ticking now and weather is calling for snow at 9pm. The guy tells me i need to copy all the recipets and add up all the parts and he would be unable to do it tonite. I start freaking out, i told him i had to get the car home blah blah blah, you dont understand, this is gona kill me, he then finds a way to issue me a temp tag. I drive back to the inspection place, slap the tag on and on my way home I go. I forgot to mention I live in South Philadelphia and I had to drive about 20min from Frankford and Castor in the North East. So i start the ride back home. I had my cusin who was with me the whole time follow behind me in my pick up. Im nervous, you know, not sure what to expect from the car. I make my way to the onramp of 95 south still a little sweaty palmed not to mention it was freezing and i didnt even have a hat. Im crusing along about 55-60mph starting to relax a little and then it starts. Not even five min on the highway and this clown in a new camaro with racing stripes, thinks hes hot ****. You know the whole deal, pulls up next to me and starts his chevy tough guy deal. Im crusing at 55-60mph, i hit the gas just enough to hit the kick down cable.......OMG... the car starts ripping wheels fishtailing, throws me back in the seat and takes off like a missle. I passed the camaro like it was parked and the cobra just kept pulling. I was at 120 in the blink of an eye, embarassing the bow tie. Ha ha bow tie, skallywags where bow ties.
It was by far the best pysical, mental and emotional feeling ever in life. I spent 4 years building the my Cobra exactly the way I wanted and its turned out better than i ever expected. I was eating the assholes out of animal crackers when i first seen this car as a matchbox and now its in my garage. It amazing!
Big thanks to Sonny and Joe from Antique and Collectables, my family, all my friends and special thanks to everyone at Club Cobra for all the support and help with all my questions.
