Default 6000 second wait for search?

I was doing some searches for topics and the typical "you have to wait 60 seconds" thing came up. First, this is goofy. Why force a wait if we are registered and logged in? If I've gotten there I'm past the spammer trolls.

Then it switched gears. I now have to wait 5729 seconds between searches. That's just totally goofy. I'm guessing it started off at 6000. What gives?

Now I won't be able to a "new posts" button search to see if anyone has responded until some time tomorrow...

If you're just looking for a few key words, you can use the Advanced Google Search. Just add site:clubcobra.com after your search words in the Google search bar.

That is strange. I just did three searches this morning and after the 60 seconds had expired they all worked ok for me.

Me too. Still 60 seconds for new posts. You must be special or perhaps you have been identified as a spamming robot!

The 60 second wait, do not know about this site, but others have used the delay as a queue approach to distribute the server usage, if searches from different users are pending as the task consumes more of the server resources......I think that is correct or ? The tech answer is ?

I think Brent said he replaced the CPU's, might it have been around the time you were doing your searches ??
