Default Replacement for Cobra

Has anyone found an adequate replacement for a Cobra? I have had one for seven years, and wondering what I am missing. I have a budget of 60k. Appreciate any input.

For $60k, buy a new 5.0 liter Mustang and trick it out. Make it loud, handle well, and look baaaaad.

Thought about that, not the same wow factor as a cobra. I believe there is a new 600hp stang comming out. I am done working on cars. I want to drive, not that my cobra has required any substantial work in last three years. Thought I was going gt40 but after discussions not 4me. Like a ford gt but to much$$$$

Perhaps you could consider:

- Elfin T5
Elfin T5

Performance and handling is outstanding! I can personally say is absolute dynamite through the twisty bits...

- Wiesmann GT MF4
Wiesmann - The individualist manufacturer | GT MF4

The Wiesmann GT MF4 I've never personally driven, But I think it looks smashing, none the less.

I dunno. It would be hard to replace my Cobra. If I had to, though, I would consider an Austin Healy 3000, a Jaguar, and if I did another replica it would have to be a Beck Lister-Corvette. There are some interesting Ferrari's for under $60k.

Sounds like a fin problem: $60k to spend, so what do I want to buy. Have fun!

I agree...only a Vette will fill the needs you have...especially if you want something that will require only normal maintenance. I would go with a C6 (2006+), and get something fairly new. I'd stick with a regular model or possibly a GrandSport so you can take the roof down (bolted down in the ZO6).

Had a 2006 for a five-year lease, put a 100k on it driving it all over the state for work. No problems, roofless cruising whenever I wanted, power, handling, good online/club support/fun.

....or a Viper Coupe old enough to fit in your price range, but that would be a distant second.

I just recently bought a 2002 C5 Corvette for my daily driver. First Vette for me, but I have to admit, it's a nice car. If I was to do it again, I would probably go for a C6, but the C5 is nice enough to get me to and from work. And it's just a Chevy, not an exotic, which can be tempermental.

Ive got a 65 XKE , prices have risen lately but there still some decently price cars out there. Loads of tuning parts available and some specialist Jaguar engine builders can build 4.7-5.0 liter engines upto 450hp , add that to 5 speed trans and brake/handling packages they are alot of fun. And all they can do is go up in value!!!!!!!

My adequate replacement was a V8 motorcycle soon to have a new 800hp engine and I kept my Cobra.Personally wanted a Cobra too many years to let it go.Good luck your budget should give you plenty of options.

replace it with another cobra everything else is lacking and will leave you wanting.just recently had the opportunity to drive a 2012 500 Shelby GT disappointing nice-looking but disappointing the sensory excitement was not there. I don't believe there's anything else quite like the COBRA experience it fills so many different desires all-in-one package and that package can be exactly what you select

OMG, Nice!!!!! Never even thought of that, what type of maint cost are involved with one? One nice thing about a cobra they are dirt cheap to fix. Great responses. I had a vette and it had so may problems it left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Keep the Cobra and buy a F350 7.3 Ford 2 wheel drive crew cab pickup with a cab high camper shell--drive any where in the country at speeds up to around 90 if you want, comfortable, roomy, tent, sleeping bags to stay at grand canyon or yellowstone,etc-- go see the country--if you want take the Cobra along---
