Welder Back Burn...Welders help
I was welding up some brackets and with my little Lincoln Weld Pack 100. I use gas 75% Argon and 25% CO2. I was using L56 .030 Mig welding wire (no flux) when my welding wire started burning back at the spool wheels and in fact welded the wire to the wheels. Replaced the inner liner but that was not the problem. Still back burning to the welding spool.
Anyone have any ideas what could cause this and if it is worth repairing? Welder is about 6 years old.
