Jeff Gagnon thanks for posting the pictures. I took a lot of pictures of CSX3021 when Bill Turner here in Fort Myers was the owner at another annual car show venue in Lakeland Florida held each October.

Looks like they were trying to replicate the tailer mishap that happened to Daytona Coupe in the day? Well, they sort of committed..

RHM, thanks for the call...

Ned, see you at SAAC37.

Cobrajeff,
In your photo IMG 0942 it shows the hood open on CSX2008 and the engine is torn apart will this be restored?

The engines in CSX2008 and CSX3001 were both "decommissioned" before Ford donated them to the museum. The museum has no interest (and no budget) to have the engines repaired. In fact, when I talked to them a few years ago, they seemed to be pleased that they could not be driven.

That’s really a shame as I prefer a total restoration rather than patina, plus I’m to old to push cars to car shows.

The Amelia Island Concours is not your typical event. At Amelia, a full 30% of the judging score comes from the categories of "elegance" and "provenance." As a result, if you had 10 perfectly restored cars, those with the best overall appearance and history would clobber those which were even minimally lacking in those areas. In other words, a car with an attractive paint color and race history can prevail over cars with more unusual paint choices and no notable historic accomplishments. Accordingly, 2433 got a 3rd place award, not just for the quality of its restoration, but for its gorgeous paint and race history that dates back to SCCA competition as far back as 1967.

After seeing 2433 in person at Amelia Island I noticed several interesting modifications, it looked as though the suspension pick up points for the control arms have been raised on the frame compared to a stock 289 Cobra? It also looked like the suspension uprights were shorter in height than the originals? We're these modifications period correct, if so were they legal modifications? Loved the blue paint scheme, flares and the aluminum shift knob!
