If you meant Columbo, I imagine it was his wife that we never got to see on screen.

This isn't exactly what you asked but it is the best answer I have ever found about the coat he wore in the series. According to this he thought he was supposed to wear a coat in that episode and he wasn't, but it became a trademark of the series.

Anybody know where the car is now?

I saw it for sale at a little place along the ocean near downtown Monterey in 1998 and always wondered what happened to it. Recently found a link to the original build on the car too, but it was Red when it was created. Built in Gilroy CA is what the original plate had scribed on it. Man that engine was a tight fit, way out to the sides of the engine bay, barely fit under the body too.
