Hotel Suggestions - Watkins Glen - June 7-9
Anyone have any suggestins as to a hotel for the SAAC event June 7-9 at Watkins Glen?

Are you referring to the Vintage Car Grand Prix that September 7 - 9 ??
Only think I see on the Watkins Glen calendar for June is the Sahlens 6 hours of the Glen, that is going on June 29 - July 1. |

SAAC-37 (Shelby American Automobile Club National Convention) and SVRA Enduro weekend
June 7-10...non-spectator event, so not on WGI public calendar.

I don't think I realized it was a closed event....Thanks.
My wife and I were going to be in the area during the event...

saac watkins glen
you can buy tickets to event. watkins hotels sold out . hilton garden horsehead had rooms, don't know if they still do.

It is not a "closed" event....all SAAC members and friends are invited.
A "non-spectator" event is track-terminology for an event that is run by the renting organization and not the Watkins Glen facility.
It means that SAAC and SVRA provides registration for all attendees, instead of tickets sold by the track.
Blas...you are welcome to come...as all CC members are. |

You can preregister online at SAAC.com. click on SAAC forum, then go to SAAC 37 for registration link. It's $15/day for SAAC members and $20/day for non members. And more if you want to run your car. Not sure how much for walk ins at the event.

When looking for a room at a different event & locale, I had also considered B & B. Chances for a vacancy might be slim, but an alternative if there are cancellations.

One last question, if I had to choose which day to attend the event, would Friday or Saturday be my best choice or are they pretty much the same venue?
