Robert Pond Crate Engine
I'm specifically looking for feedback on Robert Pond's crate engines (not the blocks). I've spoken to two folks who have had good experiences, but searching on this and the FE forum, I can't really find more references. Any color would be appreciated.
I'm still planning my build (ERA 427 with Pond 427 SO/aluminum) and am considering a couple of the builders that are highly regarded on this forum. I think I wouldn't go wrong with any of them. I spoke with Robert about his blocks and he then mentioned to me that he has built about 100 crate engines based on his blocks and heads.
Some of the things that make me want to consider him are:
1 - He is in the same state, in case I have problems
2 - He obviously has a ton of experience with FEs, and must be among the most knowledgable since he casts his own block and heads
3 - I hear his heads are a step above Edelbrock and flow really well, and that they may be replicas of the tunnel port SKs
4 - He is a very competitive racer
5 - Seems like a stand up guy
Thanks.

You cant go wrong with him, just don't use the rpm crank either use scat cast or scat 4340 forged, and he uses Holley carbs, use quick fuel carb instead.
