All,
Posting an email I received from a buddy in Detroit and information from Sue Wells on Car Show Club Classic being named in Bill Wells honor (our Cobra buddy we lost to cancer) and donations being excepted for the charities! For those of you living in Detroit or attending the Woodward Cruise this is an event you know you just can't miss..........

I am forwarding this on behalf of the newly-named "Bill Wells Car Club Classic" to garner financial support for a charity car show that has Bill organized for any years during the Woodward Dream Cruise in Bloomfield Hills.
Since 1995, the "largest one day car event in the world" has required a lot of work behind the scenes. Bill was one of those guys who pushed his community to participate in this event to raise money for deserving charities. Understand that not everybody working for individual communities is "into cars" - not even in the Motor City. It takes a lot of work to sell a car show concept to a community - even more to organize and manage one. Bill made it happen in Bloomfield Hills. In a fitting tribute, the organizers have decided to name the annual show after Bill.
This year, the show will generate money for The Fire Department Charities, the Bloomfield Township Police Benevolent Fund and the Bloomfield Hills Optimist Club.

(info on the show - try to stop by and check it out).
Please take a couple of minutes to consider writing a check (tax deductible) and sticking it in the mail (info below). It will make Sue Wells, our buddy and the 3 charities....smile.
Just under a year ago when Bill was quite ill during the "Pre-Cruise Week", I was out on Woodward in my Boss 302 and was very surprised to see a very recognizable white '57 Thunderbird ahead of me. I had talked to Bill the night before and he said he didn't think he would be out out cruising. I raced up and hung my camera out the window and snapped the attached picture while we were moving. Bill and Sue were smiling...as always. I am so very glad I did. We lost Bill two months after it was taken. His illness and treatments were never able to stop Bill from enjoying the hobby he loved.
This is a 501(c) 3, so all donations are tax deductible. Checks can be mailed to Leslie Helwig at the address below. All donations will benefit the Fire Department Charities as well as the Bloomfield Township Police Benevolent Fund and the Bloomfield Hills Optimist Club.
