Correct shape of 427 hood scoop?

I have noticed a lot of variation in the shape of the opening of the rivet-on hood scoop for the 427 cars.
Some have a curve in the leading edge of the horizontal surface, others are straight across.
Some have a forward taper to the vertical sides where they meet the hood; some are more vertical.
Some have a lip that extends into the opening; others do not.
I don't care how many rivets hold it on - how's it supposed to be shaped? What is correct?

Good observation Doug. As Jeffs 3021 pic shows flat front and thin edge. It is all just a matter of trimming and prepping the front edge before install. Nice to have the button head screws instead of rivets, pull that sucker off and correct it!

So, If I was looking at the scoop in the pic in Jeff's post from directly above the opening, is it completely straight from side to side? You can't really tell from that angle.

It is fairly flat but does slope forward at the bottom.

I have a Contemporary and need a replacement hood to reinstall the correct hood scoop. Factory 5 was close but would prefer to try and locate a Contemporary hood if I can locate. Bruce M
